It's been a little while since we've had a proper SMNDFBR, well technically there was one last week but I was unable to make it... so this week we got the band back together.
Good group for the ride, lots of familiar faces on a really spectacular July day. While the faces were familiar, the route was one we hadn't done yet, out to Waverly via gravel.
Temps were relatively cool, humidity was relatively low, the skies were a fantastic shade of blue and the ditch beers were cold on Saturday.
Despite the eagerness and speediness of the pointy end of the ride missing a crucial turn, we improvised by playing roadie and made it safely to Waverly.
We even made a new friend, stayed for a little while but he was a little too skittish to stick around for too long.
Passed under this overpass many times and always wondered where it went, it is a mystery no more.
Took the Murdock trail back into town, one of Lincoln's hidden gems of a trail that gets very little love, thus ending the SMNDFBR for another week and folks started peeling off and heading home. Thanks to all who came out, no ride this coming Saturday due to the Bohemian Sto Mil and then the Cornhusker State Games is the following week.
