Saturday brought us another rendition of the Saturday Morning No Drop Fat Bike Ride and it was another stellar day for riding bikes in the dirt.
Had a decent group show up, 9 of us in total heading out to Wilderness Park to get a little single track after all the gravel we've been getting in lately.
Lincoln in the morning, she's a beaut ain't she.
It's been so long since we've been in Wilderness Park that it seemed like we forgot how to get there. Looking back at previous pictures, we hadn't had a ride in the Park since May for one reason or another; mostly bad weather and wet trails. As a matter of fact, the last time we rode in Wilderness Park was the day we happened upon a group of zombies filming a commercial. That's one sentence that most people never get to utter with any honesty.
If you ever need help moving, I know a place where you can find people willing to move odd objects back and forth all day long.
Wilderness was in really good shape, even had been given a fresh haircut recently. It was good to get back to single track and a little different pace for the ride.
Made it down to the troll bridge, one of usual stops and noticed that while we haven't been in the park lately it hasn't stop the graffiti artists from plying their trade. Some of it's really good and I suppose it's better here than on someone's business.
Turned around at the bridge, rode back through the park and put a fork in another great SMNDFBR.
But we weren't done there, Brian and his wife, Hae Jin, invited everyone over for a little backyard BBQ.
And you thought it was all about the Fat Bikes, see what you miss when you don't come out.
Who am I kidding, it is all about the Fat Bike... and the beer, and the food, and the friendships but mostly the bikes, what's not to love about the bikes.
Thanks to all who made it out and a huge thanks to Brian and Hae Jin for the wonderful food and hospitality. No SMNDFBR next week, other rides are calling that will keep me away but we will return in two weeks and hope that the dirt is dry.
